Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Eberhard Karl University, Tübingen, Germany in 1980. She completed her postgraduate degree, Master of Hospital Administration, from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta, in 1996. She has worked as a physician and Head of a Health Service Center in Bandung for over a decade. She was a member of the Working Committee on Business Process Reengineering, organized by Arthur Andersen Strategic Consultants, and worked as a consultant for a private hospital management to develop a corporate culture-based performance appraisal system.

She is a consultant specializing in training, research, and evaluation of various health programs, including total quality management, health program planning, early childhood care and development, adolescent health, and maternal health. Based on her experience, she is consulted by national, local government, and international agencies, including USAID, AusAID, the European Union, and UNICEF.
