PAUD TEACHER AS MOTORISTS OF FAMILY EDUCATION
2019 – 2020
Early childhood education (PAUD) teachers, with their knowledge and skills, are strategically positioned to collaborate with others to optimize child development. The advantage of having PAUD teachers in almost every village—familiar with local culture, customs, and parenting norms—and the fact that almost all PAUD children are accompanied to the PAUD center by their parents, makes it highly possible for parents to interact with PAUD teachers on a daily basis.
This is the basis behind the Family Education Driving Teacher program initiated by F2H and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, namely to equip and strengthen the dissemination of knowledge on Family Education through PAUD Teachers.
For this program, F2H developed, compiled, and created four modules:
1. Child Development Module
2. Teacher-Child Interaction Module
2. Teacher-Parent Interaction Module
4. Parent-Class Facilitation Guide Module
Through this program, Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers are provided with information and training to strengthen the synergy between parents and teachers in Holistic-Integrative Early Childhood Development.
This program is a continuation of the Family Education Program, targeting the care and upbringing of preschool-aged children (25 months to 60 months).
The goal of this program is to improve the capacity of PAUD teachers to communicate and facilitate parent-child meetings. During the program, 432 meetings were held, with 5,433 women and only 234 men in attendance.
This family education program, supported by UNICEF and the Directorate of Family Education Development, Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, and the Ministry of Education and Culture, ran from 2019 to 2020.
